Biography

The award-winning Golden Apple Chorus, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, is an all-female a cappella chorus that sings four-part harmony in the barbershop style.

Under the direction of Sharon Vitkovsky, Golden Apple Chorus sings year round, entertaining audiences with the best of contemporary barbershop harmony. Founded in 1969, the chorus competes in Regional Competitions every year, and has had the distinct pleasure of capturing first-place in the small chorus category several times.

Blending the rich tradition of barbershop harmony with all types of music, the Golden Apple Chorus performs a mix of old standards, fifties, gospel, patriotic, holiday and contemporary selections.

Golden Apple Chorus celebrated its Golden Jubilee Year in 2019 and we are looking forward to many performances throughout the year highlighted by our kick-off annual show December 2, 2018.

Golden Apple Chorus rehearses every Tuesday night at Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne, New York at 7 pm and summer rehearsals (July through September) are held at the Mt. Pleasant Town Hall in Valhalla, New York.

The chorus holds open rehearsals and welcomes any woman who loves to sing and wants to have fun while making new friends.
